The Bookstore now offers textbook rentals

The Bookstore now offers new and used rentals on nearly 350 titles. Come into the Bookstore and choose the copy you want (new or used, right from the shelf). We have a kiosk setup in the store where you can complete the rental process.

You will realize significant up-front savings by choosing the rental option. And with rentals, you don't need to worry about buyback (and whether a new edition will erode the buyback value).

Unfortunately, we are currently unable to load the rental pricing into the Price Comparison Tool. In store, special tags will indicate which textbooks are available for rent. You can also look at this list of textbooks available for rent this semester. The list will continue to grow as we receive more textbook orders from instructors.

You must initiate the rental in-store at this time.

We hope the rental program will help ease the pain of textbook costs.

Was your student recently accepted?

Early Decision letters have been mailed. If your student has been accepted, consider celebrating with some Swarthmore-themed gifts.

Traditional gifts include Sweatshirts and Caps. You can also select one of our customized Accepted Student Packages. For the student-athlete, check out our Sport-Specific T-Shirts. Or a Swarthmore Pennant, perhaps? If you don't see an item you want, feel free to contact us.

Save money on books, music, and DVDs

Our partnership with Baker & Taylor--a major U.S. wholesaler--allows us to pass steep discounts on a variety of titles along to you. Find general books, gift books, movies, and music at great prices. In the process, a portion of the sales goes to Swarthmore College. It's a win-win for everyone!

Book listings include jacket photos and reviews along with descriptions and some tables of contents. Movie listings offer online trailers. And Music listings include song clips that you can play before placing your order.

Free Digital Books

We have been invited to participate in a pilot program for delivery of digital books for colleges & universities. The pilot involves a select group of campus bookstores in the United States and Canada. You can browse our selection of authors from Aristotle to Kafka to Wilde. The book downloads are free as is the reader software. Give it a shot and then give us some feedback. Enjoy!
